Master of Computer Science, Security and Trust

The University of Luxembourg is offering a two year master program in computer science.
In the first year, students follow core courses to deepen their knowledge in major areas of Computer Science.
In the second year, they choose a specilization. Security and Trust is one the five offered specialization.

Security

Security (of information systems) refers to the fact that protection goals are achieved in spite of intelligent attacks. Some important protection goals are :

Trust

In open communication systems (e.g. the Internet or mobile communication systems) it is unrealistic to assume that all parties involved completely trust one another, since all parties have to be regarded as potential attackers. Trust, therefore, is the belief in the behaviour of an involved party for some given purpose. It is closely bound to human nature and to the quality of the security available.
